God has richly blessed Friends of Nazareth. Thank you for being a part of Enriching and Enlarging the Ministry of Nazareth Baptist School. We depend upon your faithful and regular gifts to keep the ministry moving forward.

A Tribute to Michael P. Avramovich

In Memory of Michael P. Avramovich
In November 2016, Friends of Nazareth lost a dear friend and our attorney. Michael became acquainted with the Nazareth Baptist School and NEMA-FON through his association with Botrus Mansour, General Director, NBS, at the Network/Ministry of Christian Lawyers.

Though neither Michael or his lovely wife, Susan, ever visited NBS, they had an affection for young people and for the school. Each of them desired to support the school. In his memory, Susan, has made an endowment to NBS via FON to help with camps; launch and support a Youth Outreach Center for the youth of Nazareth; and to add seed funds to the relocation fund.

We are excited to share with our readers that the  Michael P. Avramovich Memorial Youth Outreach Center will open in September 2017. The FON team is working with the NBS Board to finalize the details. A Director has been located. The plan of action is about to be completed. Friends of Nazareth and NBS are honored to be able to see Michael's legacy benefit the youth of Nazareth. We want to thank God for this amazing answer to prayer , though bittersweet. We appreciated Michael so much and all that he did to support NEMA-FON in many ways. He lives on through ministry and in our thoughts.

We ask you to pray for Susan as she adjusts to life without Michael. We send her our heartfelt sympathy. We hope to welcome Susan to Nazareth in the not too distant future.

Dr. Wasim Shomar (NBS graduate and resident of Miami), Najed Azzam and Botrus Mansour met with Dr. Mark B. Rosenberg (right), President of Florida International University while in Miami. Botrus Mansour and Najed Azzam present the Mayor of Miami, Tomas' Pedro Regalado, with a specially made plague from Nazareth.

NBS students and students from Ort Shapiro Jewish school, Kfar Saba (near Tel Aviv) met together for a joint program called Narrative 4. Lily Khouri, NBS teacher, and student Malak Lahham will travel to Ireland for an International Conference related to the same program. NBS is one of the few Arab schools in Israel to regularly participate in cross-cultural partnership studies.

The NBS Class of 1987 recently gathered for a reunion celebrating their 30th High School graduation.
