Dear members,
The privilege of being the CITAP Executive Director gives me the opportunity to work together with our supportive members, dedicated board and committee volunteers - and also to be part of such a dynamic association that believes in and is supportive of the direction we established to help our association move forward.
Over the past year, under the outstanding leadership of our President Cheryl Lee, CITAP has accomplished so much and achieved the goals set out for 2016. This was only possible through the strong dedication and efforts from all of you: our members, board and committee members.
Recently I had the pleasure of joining the CITAP Board retreat held on Thursday, June 8, 2017. The retreat is crucial; it is important that we find the time to work together to maximize the potential of our association's leadership. The focus of this retreat ranged from improving our organizational systems and communication channels to reviewing the committee portfolios as well as our 2016 successes and challenges - and how to make this year even better!
Throughout the retreat, the same topic/theme reoccurred in our discussion: education opportunities to members. This theme is also aligned with the conversations we had with you, our members, during many opportunities we had this past year including RVC 2017.
Education has been our focus in 2016, and as a result of the recent retreat it will continue to be our main focus in addition to our advocacy work and strategic partnerships. We started this year with three FAM tours, a number of seminars/workshops and one education program. More education opportunities are being planned so stay tuned!
Should you have any questions for me, or if you are interested in learning more and in helping in one of our committee portfolio, please let me know.
