The team made 15 company visits in the month of March. Twelve of the fourteen companies visited reported current or future growth. Transportation options are often a topic of discussions with employers; for more information about smart commuting options, go

We frequently get asked about the definition of "Primary Companies" which are the focus of EDAWN's efforts. The common economic development definition is "Primary Companies are those which create jobs within a specific region which are supported by revenues that are primarily generated from outside the region where the business is located." If you believe you are a Primary Company and have not yet been visited, please contact
Cynthia Egan.
A common misunderstanding exists regarding whether existing primary companies can request incentives to help grow their business and the answer is "YES" if they meet the criteria. For more information, contact
Nancy McCormick.
Are you using all the resources available to you to find employees? Don't forget the numerous programs offered by Nevada JobConnect. Employers have several options when posting job orders with the Employment Security Division (ESD). ESD can provide screening/referral control of all candidates, or employers can receive referrals directly from job seekers through
US.Jobs. In all cases, your job order is placed into
Nevada's Job Bank on the Internet. For more information, go
here.
Are you an EXISTING PRIMARY company who wants to shine? Start planning now to nominate yourselves for the EDAWN Existing Business Awards that take place in October. Categories exist for large and small companies and include those recognizing manufacturing excellence, companies with a "wow" factor, commitment to sustainability, focus on employees, partnerships with education, corporate community contributions and others, including Company of the Year. Contact us at 775.829.3712 or email,
Cynthia Egan and start the process NOW!
