Come and spend the day with Envision students and staff at a Defense Design Studio; experience a real, high stakes student defense presentation for yourself!
The College Success Portfolio Defense is the capstone activity for our students, four years of knowing, doing, and reflecting all pulled into one place and one moment. It is the final inquiry, the final essential question, the final exhibition: a culmination of four years of work. Akin to a dissertation defense or professional presentation, students stand before a panel of their peers, adult educators, and mentors to demonstrate the depth of their knowing, doing, and reflecting as evidenced by their academic work and self-reflection.

At this full day studio, facilitated by Envision Learning Partners, you'll learn about what it means to pa
rticipate in Performance Assessment at Envision schools. You'll observe an entire Portfolio Defense, by a 10th or a 12th grader. And you'll process and discuss what you saw, and connect it to your own learning, educational context, or teaching practice.
