Embracing Encaustic with Linda Womack
 Greetings!

I hope all of you in the U.S. had a great Independence Day holiday and everyone else at least had a wonderful Wednesday.

As I prepare to publish the third edition of my book,  Embracing Encaustic, you can catch up on how it came to be through a link below to an article I wrote recently for Encaustic Arts magazine. This new edition will be published only as an electronic book (eBook), so if you want a printed version of buy it soon as I have less than 100 copies left!

See your art published in Embracing Encaustic
I've decided this eBook will be a great opportunity to add to the number of techniques I can share and how many artists I'm able to feature, so look for a CALL FOR ART very soon.  Visit my blog or join me on FaceBook or Twitter for the earliest announcements, but I'll give you more details in my next newsletter too.

Take care,

Exquisite Wax at Newport Visual Arts
The View from the Newport Visual Arts Center, Oregon
The view from the Newport Visual Arts Center, Oregon
Exquisite Wax opens at the Newport Visual Arts Center today featuring 20 encaustic painters from the Pacific Northwest. The art center is right on the edge of beautiful Nye Beach in Oregon, so you have two reasons to visit! I'll be showing work that ranges from very large to very small, but each painting relates to the power of the waves just outside the building.

Finalist for the La Vendéene Award
Wax Transfers with Photographs and Drawings
Wax Transfers with Photographs and Drawings

I'm pleased to announce that I'm a finalist for the La Vendéene award from the International Encaustic Artists (IEA). The awards are intended to "recognize outstanding contributions to the advancement and practice of encaustic art." I am honored!

The awards will be presented in early September at their annual encaustiCon event in San Antonio, Texas. I'll fly out for the awards ceremony where I will also be a vendor showing off my popular online encaustic classes and the new eBook of Embracing Encaustic. Wish me luck!

My Article in Encaustic Arts Magazine

I'm proud to have an article in the current issue of Encaustic Arts magazine called Creating and Embracing New Opportunities which tells the story of how my book, Embracing Encaustic, led to many more new opportunities including my online encaustic classes at WomackWorkshops.com.

Read the whole article online. It's a very inspiring magazine, so please share it with your friends!
