Thank You Harvey Najim Foundation!
A huge THANK YOU to the  Harvey E. Najim Family Foundation  for their recent grant of $15,000. Their ongoing support allows San Antonio Youth Literacy the opportunity to continue to deliver  our  SAYL Reading Buddy Program to those children struggling to read on grade level. Thank you to the Foundation and its trustees in continuing to show their support!

The trunks are slowly rolling in and next week is the last week of school for the year.  Our staff will be spending the next couple of weeks compiling the students' End of Year Reading Assessments. Summer Volunteer Opportunities

This summer, SAYL is partnering with Project Transformation to Decrease "Summer Slide" Among Youth. Project Transformation-Rio Texas, a ministry of the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, is beginning its first summer of programming in the greater San Antonio area, and we need your help!  Read More >>
Volunteer Bookkeeper Needed

SAYL is seeking a volunteer to assist with general bookkeeping tasks.  Volunteer should be able to donate 2-3 hours per week, has knowledge of accounts receivable and payables to record weekly accounting activities. Prior knowledge of Quickbooks software is beneficial.

Shout out to Brooks City Base - Our May Volunteers of the Month!

Our May Volunteer Spotlight is our amazing group from Brooks City Base! Our partnership with Brooks began last school year with just four Reading Buddy volunteers. This year the group has grown to over twenty volunteers, and the group has been a huge help filling the need at one of the harder to reach elementary schools, Mission Academy. Read More >>
