Dear Church,
Ask Al Syverson to show you the picture of the stained glass window of the church where he and Arlene were married 67 years ago (he's been carrying it with him lately). It's a typical stained glass scene from a church, but this one also as an eye, right there in the middle of it! Al says there's another window on the opposite wall, with another eye. Two eyes, watching you when you worship!
The message is obvious...or is it? Some might have the sense that God is watching them, always noticing the sins, the errors, and the miscues they commit on a daily, or minute-by-minute basis. They hate the feeling of being spied upon, even judged, as they live in this world of temptation and conflict.
But others might see it differently; that God is watching over them, always aware of the danger, and the difficult choices we face in this life. They value the feeling of being accompanied by God; affirmed by the love, and comforted by the grace.
I suppose it boils down to how one perceives God. Is God the angry, demanding One who waits for that "Gotcha!" moment, and then pounces on us with punishment and scorn? Or is God the loving parent, wanting and wishing the very best for us; so pleased when we make the good choices, and so forgiving us when we fall.
The truth is, God is always watching us. God sees us as his children; loved, forgiven, redeemed. How do you see God?
We'll see you in Church!
Pastor Steve (and God!)

Help create a child's very first FaithMarker! At their baptism, we wrap a child in a small hand-made quilt with a cross on the front sewn by our own evening quilters. If you enjoy sewing or want to learn, the evening quilters group could use your hands! They have a flexible schedule, sewing both at home and with the group at church. They meet 1-2 times per month for an evening of sewing and fellowship, or to select fabrics & pick up supplies for at home sewing. The quilt pattern that they use is simple to learn even for a new sewer. Questions? Contact Valerie Kubal at vkk1009@hotmail.com.
Wednesday Meal Assistants
We are looking for a few people to assist our Wednesday Meal Coordinator with cooking and serving our Wednesday Meals. Time commitment would be approximately 1.5 hours on Wednesdays, 4:30-6:00 pm. Contact Dawn for more information at 651-439-5704, ext 23 or dawn@oslcstillwater.org.
