SHAVUOT AT EZRA BESSAROTH - MAY 26-28

On Shavuot we celebrate and commemorate the receiving of the Torah on Mt. Sinai over 3300 years ago. The word Shavuot literally means "weeks." It marks the completion of the seven-week counting period between Passover and Shavuot. There are several Sephardic traditions associated with Shavuot, this includes the Vilada, where we gather and read through a condensed version of the entire Torah. As this holiday is associated with the receiving of the Torah it is our custom to stay up late and study Torah. Rabbi Meyers will be offering two late night classes on the first night of Shavuot, please see the schedule below. We will be reading the book of Ruth and Azharot both days of Shavuot and Rabbi Meyers will be offering a special class for women on the second day of Shavuot. Please review the schedule below and join us in celebrating this joyous festival, all are welcome.
