Greetings!  

The extended deadline for comments on the Navy's alternatives regarding homebasing the F-35C Joint Strike Fighter at either NAF El Centro or NAS Lemoore is May 7, and our coalition is making one last push for comments.

 

If the Navy bases the Joint Strike Fighter at NAF El Centro, there would be hundreds of new high paying jobs in our region, an enhanced quality of life and assured long term survival of our base.   We have also determined that the Navy could save billions of dollars over the life of the aircraft if it chooses NAF El Centro.

 

Below is a letter format we have prepared for your consideration. Please revise as you wish, and feel welcome to put it into your own words.   It must be sent by May 7 to the address on the letter.

 

REMEMBER, IT MUST BE POSTMARKED BY MAY 7.

Community Participation In Support of the F35c Joint Strike Fighter

Imperial Valley United for Joint Strike Fighter has worked to get us to this point and with a final effort we can all make a difference!  This weekend, members of the committee will be at two locations to help Imperial Valley residents write letters and sign petitions.  They will have booths at:

 

  •          Brawley Walmart - Arco AM/PM Grand Opening
             10:00 am - 2:00 pm
  •          Sunbeam Lake - Imperial Valley Little League
             Tournament & BBQ
             11:30 am - 5:00 pm

 

Imperial Valley United will also be hosting a "take over" at Chili's Restaurant in El Centro on Monday, May 6, 2013,  from 11am to 10pm. Please CLICK HERE and present this flyer at the event and 15% of your meal purchase will be donated back to help this effort!
