Lower School OLSAT Assessments
|
The OLSAT measures abstract thinking and reasoning capabilities that relate to a student's academic success. Because it is used only as a reference tool, results will not be sent home.
To help your children do their best on this assessment, please be sure they get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast.
Students who are out of school those days will be tested the week of February 26.

Frederica Academy Video Airs on Golden Isles TV

The new Frederica Academy Video will air on our Local TV Channel, Golden Isles TV, on Comcast Channel 98, starting on
Wednesday, February 21.
The Frederica Video airs on Golden Isles TV every night at 7:30 p.m. and again at 9:30 pm, right after the Tour of Homes / Real Estate Show.

Frederica Academy has signed up for this year's Relay for Life event
in Brunswick
on April 20.

Middle School Valentine's Student Council Celebrations
|
|
On Valentines Day, the Middle School Student Council hosted a Bake Sale and Pie Day. Donations for the fundraiser go towards Middle School Field Day.
As part of the festivities,
Charlie Runyan, Middle School Student Council President, was "honored" with a special pie. Charlie, thank you for being a good sport and a terrific student leader!

Lower School Valentine's Day Red Smoothie Challenge

On Thursday, the Lower School participated in the Valentine's Day Red Smoothie Challenge.
The students had the opportunity to try tasty smoothies provided by Nurse Byers and Lower School parents.

Third Grade KGIB Recycling Lesson
|
|
Keep Golden Isles Beautiful representatives visited our Third Graders on Thursday to discuss the best ways to recycle and reuse items we commonly consider trash.

| Third Grade Xtramath Program |

Luke Sarzier
was the first Third Grade student to complete our new Xtramath program. Many other students are close to completing as well.
When students complete the program, we celebrate in many ways. Luke received a special certificate, as well as his golden crown, and party necklaces. He was also able to sit in the teacher's chair all day, and he had a night off of homework that evening.
We are so proud of Luke, and we know many other Third Grader students are right behind him in completing this program.

To celebrate Valentine's Day, Third Grade students exchanged Valentine's, played BINGO, and enjoyed delicious snacks.

Kindergarten Presidents' Day Fact-Filled Circle Maps
|
|
Kindergarten worked hard at creating two fact-filled circle maps about Presidents Washington and Lincoln as students prepared to celebrate Presidents' Day and to kick off the Kindergarten unit on American Symbols. Kindergartners also conducted an experiment using three different solutions to see which would clean pennies the best. The children made predictions as to which would make the most difference and could not decide by the end of the day on Friday. They voted to check again after the long weekend.
As always, every day is a great day to be in Kindergarten!
