Letter from the President

A message from FAB President, Carolyn Lee

In this exciting phase of growth for FAB, I am thrilled to take on the role of President. Entering our 15th year, FAB has awarded nearly $3 million in grants to local arts organizations. This is a major accomplishment!

Over the past year, we have extended our efforts to present a variety of FAB! Fun gatherings and signature events for members and their guests. Also, we have enhanced our communications program to share more event information and other updates through the FAB! Scene, our website and eblasts.

As your new President, I am committed to continuing our mission of supporting the arts, as well as spreading the good news about the work we do for the arts community. Together, we will accomplish even more in the coming year!

Please help me welcome our new board member, Christy Lambertus, and send a very special thank you to out-going President, Jayne Mills, and out-going board members, Bonnie Eletz and Susan Lochrie, for their dedication to FAB.

Sincerely,
Carolyn Lee

SPOTLIGHT ON FLORIDA CHILDREN'S THEATRE

The award-winning Florida Children's Theatre (formerly Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre) was founded by two mothers in a garage in 1952, because at that time there were no creative options for children after school. FLCT went on to be incorporated in 1959, and was the first documented children's theatre in the state and the first cultural organization in Broward to own its own facility.

The organization's mission is to teach the art of life through the magic of theatre. FLCT offers year-round classes and camps in acting, improv, dance, music and more for preschool through high school students, a full season of professional quality productions and community outreach programs that include literacy through drama and conflict resolution initiatives.

"Florida Children's Theatre is grateful and thrilled to receive ongoing support from FAB," said Janet Erlick, Executive Artistic Director of Florida Children's Theatre. "FAB's generous funding supports our comprehensive theatre education programming and allows us to work with even more young people through this important art form."

FAB has proudly funded the organization for the past ten years.

Thank you to our Corporate Members for their continued support!
