Distinguished Lecture Series feat. Barrington Irving

The Center for Aviation Studies is partnering with the College of Engineering to bring Captain Barrington Irving to campus as part of its Distinguished Lecture Series. Captain Irving is the first African-American pilot to fly around the world and is a National Geographic Explorer. Captain Irving will deliver a keynote address and participate in a panel discussion on issues of diversity and inclusion within the aviation industry.

The Environmental Professionals Network's October 10 program is  Privatization of Public Drinking Water Utilities -- Can the Public's Interest Still Be Protected?  With a national infrastructure initiative still seemingly possible along with consideration of public-private partnerships in the U.S. and across the world, what considerations for protecting the public's basic right to clean, affordable drinking water are important, even as local governments may consider partnerships with the private sector? The presenter is James Olson, an attorney in Traverse City who has been involved in Great Lakes water issues for many years. In partnership with the Ohio Water Resources Center at OSU. As for all EPN programs, continuing education credits are available. Sponsored by Del-Co Water and Envirolink.

India: Sustainable Food Systems in an Emerging Economy
Summer Session 1, 2018
The goal of this India education abroad program is to provide students an intensive and immersive lecture and field-based experience that will educate them about agriculture in an emerging economy like India. This program will combine guest lectures by experts from different colleges of PAU, a premier agricultural university; visits to farmer’s fields, post-harvest processing, seed production, and agricultural equipment manufacturer facilities; and exposure to Indian culture through visits to heritage and cultural sites. Belgium Environmental Science & Engineering Study Abroad Program (Sponsored by Texas A&M)
Summer 2018
Agricultural Engineering students from Ohio State are invited to participate in the Belgium Environmental Science and Engineering Study Abroad program offered by the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department at Texas A&M University.
 
The Belgium Program has been offered annually for the past 13 years, and this year the dates are July 4 to August 10, 2018. Students take two, three hour engineering classes, BAEN 460 (Principles of Environmental Hydrology) and BAEN 465 (Design of Biological Waste Treatment Systems). Students not from Texas A&M sign-up for equivalent classes in their home department. Learn more...

Become a Wellness Ambassador

The Student Life Student Wellness Center is currently recruiting Wellness Ambassadors! Wellness Ambassadors aim to promote wellness among OSU students and their communities. Wellness Ambassadors deliver educational presentations in a variety of settings and work together to plan, publicize, and implement campus events highlighting the 9 dimensions of wellness.

Undergraduate students invited to apply for Propel Ohio collegiate leadership summit
Propel Ohio is a leadership program that promotes civic engagement and inspires undergraduate students to grow into civic leaders in Ohio. Undergraduate students are invited to apply to participate in Propel Ohio: Collegiate Leadership Summit 2017, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 17 at the University of Akron. The program will actively engage with college students on issues that affect childhood poverty, including food security, inequities in education, and homelessness. The application deadline is  Tuesday, October 10.
