Provost's Discovery Themes Lecture: J.D. Vance
Tuesday, November 7, 4:30 - 5:45 p.m. Mershon Auditorium (Doors open at 3:30 p.m.)
J.D. Vance will propose a hands-on approach to problems facing his native state of Ohio: opioid addiction, under-preparedness of the workforce, and domestic instability. Through his non-profit organization,  Our Ohio Renewal, Vance, a 2009 alumnus of Ohio State, will tackle these issues that shaped his upbringing in Middletown, Ohio, subject of  Hillbilly Elegy , Vance’s #1  New York Times  best-seller .
The lecture is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged by Thursday, November 2, 2017. Paid visitor parking is available at the Ohio Union South Garage. Please  visit the lecture webpage  for more information.

Texas A&M Undergraduate Summer Research Grant
Applications OPEN November 1
Are you an undergraduate engineering student who wants to discover innovative solutions to problems? The Undergraduate Summer Research Grant Program (USRG) will take your academic career to the next level. The USRG program at Texas A&M University provides an exciting and unique opportunity for undergraduate students to immerse themselves in research under the guidance of College of Engineering faculty, postdoctoral fellows and advanced graduate students. 

Accepted applicants will travel to our campus in College Station, Texas and conduct research from May 29 through August 3, 2018. The program culminates in a poster session where you will have the opportunity to present your own research to faculty members and your peers, gaining valuable insight and experience. 

Students who take advantage of this opportunity are more likely to attend graduate school and continue researching innovative advances in engineering and technology. We hope to see you next summer!

India: Sustainable Food Systems in an Emerging Economy
Summer Session 1, 2018
The goal of this India education abroad program is to provide students an intensive and immersive lecture and field-based experience that will educate them about agriculture in an emerging economy like India. This program will combine guest lectures by experts from different colleges of PAU, a premier agricultural university; visits to farmer’s fields, post-harvest processing, seed production, and agricultural equipment manufacturer facilities; and exposure to Indian culture through visits to heritage and cultural sites. Screening” which will walk you through the process.

While it may seem challenging to access counseling for barriers to mental wellness, mental
health concerns are not as uncommon as you think. There is help to support you. You are not
