Summer School Garden Workshops

Orange County - June 4-5, 2018
A two-day workshop featuring curriculum connections and hands-on gardening techniques to help your garden and students thrive. The workshop will be held at the Mid-Florida Research and Education Center at 2725 S Binion Rd, Apopka, FL 32703. Registration is at 8:30am with the workshop beginning at 9am. The program will conclude by 4pm.

Suwannee County - June 8, 2018
A one-day garden focused workshop featuring curriculum connections, hands-on gardening techniques, hydroponic how-to’s and more! The workshop will be held at the North Florida Research and Education Center – Suwannee Valley at 8202 County Road 417, Live Oak, FL 32060. Registration is at 8:30am with the workshop beginning at 9am. The program will conclude by 3:30pm.
Palm Beach County Workshop

Join us in Palm Beach County for a special teacher training and farm tour! Throughout the morning, participants will learn about local agriculture and how to integrate it into their classrooms. In the afternoon, we will be touring different aspects of local agriculture! The workshop will be held at the Everglades Research and Education Center in Belle Glade.
Agriculture Literacy Day

The 15th annual Florida Agriculture Literacy Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, 2018. This will be the fourth and final book in a series of non-fiction children's books developed that highlights Florida’s fruit industries. Agriculture Literacy Day will be moving to the fall in the 2018-2019 school year.

The book,  Drive through Florida: Fruit  features the animated red truck named ‘Ole Red’ that takes students on a tour around Florida to learn about our diverse fruit industries.

Readers are asked to schedule their classroom visits before they order materials. Registration for materials, which includes one book for the teacher and one bookmark and sticker per student can be found at http//faitc.org/aglitday/ .
