Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons, AHL affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced on Tuesday that they have signed center Jeremy Langlois and goaltender Mike Clemente to one-year AHL contracts for the 2013-14 season.
Langlois, a rookie from Tempe, Ariz., completed his four-year collegiate campaign at Quinnipiac University (NCAA, D-I) this past spring. As a senior, Langlois helped lead the Bobcats to the NCAA Frozen Four Championship Game by posting a team-best 31 points (13g-18a), a career high for the Tempe, Ariz. native. He scored a goal in Quinnipiac's 4-1 NCAA Frozen Four Semifinal victory over St. Cloud State prior to the Bobcats' 4-0 title-contest loss to Yale University. Langlois, 23, accumulated 100 points (56g-44a) in 156-career contests from 2009 to 2013 at Quinnipiac.
Clemente skated his rookie season of 2012-13 with the Missouri Mavericks (CHL) while under contract with the Falcons. In 45 appearances with Missouri, Clemente went 25-15-4 with a .894 save percentage, a 3.25 goals-against average, and one shutout while being named the CHL's Rookie of the Month for October. Clemente made his professional debut at the end of 2011-12 with Springfield, registering a 2-1-0 mark with a .930 save percentage, a 1.99 goals-against average, and a shutout in six outings. A 23-year-old from Great Falls, Va., Clemente played four years at Brown University (NCAA, D-I) from 2008-2012. With the Bears, Clemente compiled a 32-54-14 career mark with a .908 save percentage, a .893 save percentage, a 3.03 goals-against average, and three shutouts over 107 games.
