ForUGchairsFor Undergraduate Chairs: Undergraduate Studies Meeting
October 24 and 25

The following questions are in advance, and for discussion at, the October Chairs of Undergraduate Studies Meeting.
  1. Plan selection for students entering 2nd year: we reduced the decision making period from two weeks to one week.  Did this present any challenges for your department?
  2. Enrolment appointment times: we are limited to issuing 400 enrolment appointment times per hour.  Because of enrolment increases over the past few years, we will likely need to enroll 3rd and 4th year students over two days.  Every year we hear from unhappy students because the student with the earlier appointment time gets the best selection of courses.  How do we create a fair system of assigning enrolment appointment times, keeping in mind that we can only issue 400 per hour?
  3. Training:  are there specific training needs that we can provide?  Eg. how wait lists work; how to effectively use reserve capacities; etc.
  4. Change of Plan for upper year students through the ASC website (May and again June/July):  are there particular challenges that you face?  Using an ACF outside of the official COP timelines.
  5. Personal Interest Credit:  do you need more information on how they work?  I will also be providing you with some statistics.
  6. Are there other challenges/concerns that you have?
