Congratulations to Kathy Six, FCC's March 2017 Volunteer of the Month. Kathy not only serves on the Ambassador Team but she was involved in getting that ministry off the ground along with Nancy Ator & Janie Cook. She loves greeting new people and visiting with old friends. She feels this ministry is one that makes a house a home.
Kathy joined FCC in the summer of 1983. She truly sees FCC as her church family. Other areas of service that she has been involved in includes Women's Ministry, where she has helped to host Teas and Women's Retreats. She has worked and taught Vacation Bible School over the years. Years ago she helped with the Junior High Youth Group. Additionally, she has also served on the funeral dinner committee and has done communion preparation.
Kathy works at Passavant Area Hospital. She is the mother of two sons. Brandon and his wife Taylor live in White House, TN and they have two sons, Eli & Mason. Justin and his wife Tricia live in Decatur and they also have two sons, Drew & Beckham.

At First Christian Church we appreciate all of you for your willingness to bless and serve others. We are all called to be the hands and feet of Jesus and that would not be possible without all of our Volunteers!!
If you serve on any area of Ministry here at FCC, we want to say THANK YOU! Join us on Friday, April 7 at FCC for a celebration in your honor! The evening will consist of food, fellowship, and entertainment featuring comedian, David Graham. Childcare will be provided. In order to be prepared for food and childcare,

Top Volunteer Opportunities @ FCC
CLUBHOUSE / PRESCHOOL AREA:
-- Our church family is growing and we need YOUR help!! Volunteers are needed for Sunday Mornings, during the
9:30 & 11:00 services. One Sunday a month, volunteer in whatever area you feel comfortable with.
WALK FOR WELLNESS:
--Volunteers are needed for monitoring during the walk for wellness program. Walkers are allowed to walk from
12:30-3:00 Monday-Friday in the foyer. The program follows District 117's schedule of days. If you would be able to volunteer one day a week or be listed as a sub, please let us know.
COMMUNION:
-- We are needing some volunteers to help fill communion trays once a week for our Sunday services.
M.O.P.S. (Mother of Preschoolers):
--Volunteers needed to help with the childcare during the meetings. Meetings are twice a month (one morning and one evening) on Mondays. Meetings run until
April 17th. Volunteer once a month, or even just a couple times, whatever works best for your schedule!
BUS DRIVERS:
--One Sunday every other month before the
9:30 & 11:00 services.

Starting Point is where we help you know more about what we believe, share next steps, help you grow in your faith, and help you connect into the FCC family. Those who want to learn more about following Christ, being baptized, or becoming a member will find this gathering valuable. A light lunch and childcare are provided. Join women of all ages and walks of life as we encounter the Word of God, the joy of music, and the spirit of friendship. Women of Joy presents the 2017 tour "Immeasurably More". The Women of Joy conference will be in Indianapolis, IN on August 11 & 12, 2017. Speakers for the event include Candace Cameron Bure, Christine Caine, and Lisa Harper, just to name a few. Each year Lincoln Christian University hosts a day for a Christian Women's Conference! We invite all women to join at the University in Lincoln, IL on Wednesday, April 26! This year, the theme is "Royal Treasures" with Liz Curtis Higgs & Susie Larson as the speakers.

Attention men! FCC will be attending the Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conference in Springfield, IL on Saturday, March 18. This one day conference is for men of all ages; beginning with men age 13 and older. Cost is only $47 ($32 for students). There will be 16 different seminars for men at this conference, so we know there will be something for everyone! You can call the Office to sign up or visit the table in the Foyer on Sunday morning!
Sunday, March 5 is the last day to sign up to go!

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets:
The first Monday of each month 9am - 11am in the Fellowship Hall
The third Monday of each month 5:30pm - 7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall

Do you love to quilt? Like to sew? Or are you interested in
learning? You are invited to join with other ladies to work on projects to donate to various charity organizations. This group will meet the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month in the Fellowship Hall at 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Bring a sack lunch, a sewing machine, thread, quilting tools and any fabric you wish to donate.
