FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents & Students

WINTER TOURNAMENTS! - Power Ninja & Samurai Tournaments happening in February!

Life Ki-do Tournaments are a wonderful complement to regular classes and give students an opportunity to practice their focus and martial arts skills as well as to develop their confidence. The Focus Tournaments nurture the art of doing one's personal best rather than emphasizing competition. The Power Ninja Tournament is Saturday February 28th from 4-5:15pm. The Samurai Tournament will be Saturday, February 21st from 4-6pm. Get more info and register here: http://lifekido.com/focus-tournaments .   We will also have a spring round of tournaments coming up in April.

RIVER PARENTING WORKSHOP - Sensei Jonathan and Carrie Contey, Ph.D.

Our January parenting workshop sold out very quickly, so we're holding another one in case you missed it! If you did attend our January workshop, just know that this will cover much of the same material but later in the year we will be holding a workshop which will build on these foundations.

Saturday, March 28th * 3:45-6:15pm
Looking for more ease and flow in your family life in 2015? Come and learn how to be a River Parent and stay centered and in the flow while parenting. The River Parenting Workshop at the dojo will be led by:

  • Jonathan Hewitt - founder of Life Ki-do and co-author of Life Ki-do Parenting: Tools to Raise Happy, Confident Kids from the Inside Out
  • Carrie Contey, Ph.D. - parenting coach extraordinaire and human development specialist

The workshop costs $49/person or $79/couple if both parents would like to attend. Register here to reserve your spot.

SUMMER CAMPS - Registration coming soon!
We know that it's already time to start planning for summer. We'll be sending out an email later this week with schedules and information about our super fun Power Ninja and Samurai summer camps. Stay tuned!

SPRING SPORTS SCHEDULES? - Need to change your class schedule to work around baseball or soccer?

We know that some of our students like to do baseball or soccer in the spring months. If that's true for you and you're finding the schedule conflicts with our classes, just let us know and we'll do our best to find an alternate schedule for you either permanently or temporarily.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT - February 28th!

Parent's Night Out in February is for Samurai age kids (7-11). Open to current students, siblings and friends. Saturday, February 28th from 5:30-8pm. Get more info and/or register here:  http://lifekido.com/parents-night/

MISSING A CLASS? - Feel free to contact us to schedule a make up class.

If you aren't able to attend your normal class day/time you don't need to let us know as we take attendance in every class. (which requires you to log in to your Life Ki-do account). Alternately you are welcome to call or email Jeff to schedule a make-up class (ideally 24+ hours before the make-up).

LIKE TO PLAY AT THE PLAYGROUND? - Austin's Pizza Playground getting a facelift!

Many of our families enjoy the playground next door at Austin's Pizza when the weather is nice and now a great playground is getting even better! Just know that from Monday, February 9th thru March 1st the playground will be shut down so that they can completely re-do it with not only improved play scapes, but more outdoor seating and improved landscaping!
