WE WELCOME OUR NEWEST 108 MEMBERS!
NYZCCC is my spiritual home.
I am comforted by the fact that there
is a "light in the window" to guide me home.
Being a 108 member helps to keep this spiritual beacon lit.
Jeff Seymour
I "met" NYZCCC as a hospice social worker.
But it has been through the sangha, the teachers, the classes,
that I am truly meeting myself and experiencing the world through the joy of practicing here.

We Welcome Our New Director
|
We are truly pleased to announce that Carmine Branagan has been appointed to the position of Director of New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. Carmine comes to us with over 30 years of nonprofit experience that includes positions as Senior Vice President, Publishing at the National Audubon Society; Vice President, Marketing and Communications, New World Symphony; Executive Director, American Craft Council; and Director, National Academy Museum & School. She brings extensive experience and expertise in strategic planning, program and curriculum development, communication, management and administration, philanthropy/fundraising, and board development/facilitation. Perhaps as significant as her professional expertise, Carmine has been a member of our Sangha for over two years and has had a meditation practice for decades.
"
I am honored by this appointment as well as the opportunity to work with Chodo and Koshin, whose dedication and vision inspire us all. Having known them when the Center was a developing possibility, it was impressive to arrive several years ago and witness what they had accomplished. I also look forward to working with each of you as we steward the Zen Center, and practice and serve together."
- Carmine Branagan

On January 10th, 108 Member Ronaldo Aguiar married his long time partner,
Felippe Crescenti at NYZCCC. The ceremony was officiated by Koshin and Chodo.
From Ronaldo....
To be surrounded by lovely people in this very important moment of our lives, our marriage, was one of the most beautiful and unique moments that life has to offer. It was a privilege and a blessing to get married and be blessed by Koshin and Chodo, two people we love and respect. The wedding was even more special because it took place at New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, a place full of peace and good vibes. We just want to say thank you for all the support and love we received.

Last week it was the number one new book on Amazon in end-of-life-care!
The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease.
It is the ultimate source of success in life.
Awake at the Bedside supports this development of love and compassion.
