Family Promise
Helping end homelessness,
one family  at
a time!

Many people are needed to help as we
welcome homeless families into our church for a week, providing a safe place for children and their families to sleep.

Volunteers are needed to setup after Sunday school July 8th, breakdown the morning of July 15th, stay overnight, fix dinner,  and fellowship with the children
and adults.

Check the sign-up board located on Main Street to see how  YOU can help and to volunteer. You won't want to miss out on
this life-changing mission!

For more information or to volunteer,
email  Steve Krupski  or contact him at

Amazing Things Happen

I love this quote from the Rev. Rick Kirchoff, preached to the Memphis Annual Conference a few years ago: "When God sends forth the Spirit amazing things happen: barriers are broken, communities are formed, opposites are reconciled, unity is established, disease is cured, addiction is broken, cities are renewed, races are reconciled, hope is established, people are blessed, and church happens.

Today the Spirit of God is present and we're gonna have church.

So be ready, get ready ... God is up to something ... discouraged folks cheer up, dishonest folks fess up, sour folks sweeten up, closed folk open up, gossipers shut up, conflicted folks make up, sleeping folks wake up, lukewarm folk fire up, dry bones shake up, and pew potatoes stand up!

But most of all, Christ the Savior of all the world is lifted up."

Sitting with your lay members Cookie and Necia, at the closing session of the Holston Annual Conference today, I pray, "Send forth your Spirit, 0 God, among us at First Farragut United Methodist Church! My church family, take a deep breath, and feel the power of God."

FISH Needs YOU
On the 4th Wednesday of each month at FFUMC, FISH (Friends in Service to Humanity) volunteers take phone calls from Knox County residents who need an emergency supply of groceries. We enter data into the computer to generate delivery routes. Delivery volunteers pick up food and deliver it to those who have called.

We need volunteers to take phone calls and enter data into the
computer. Our FISH team will provide training. The time commitment is  8:30-11:30 a.m. on the 4th Wednesday of the month every 2-3 months.

We also need volunteers to deliver groceries. You will be assigned to an experienced volunteer to learn the delivery process. Women volunteers must work in teams of two or more. The time commitment is 2-3 hours every 4th Wednesday of the month.

This ministry is fun and rewarding! Please consider joining our FISH team. Contact Laura Derr  for more information.
