DD Network News
It's August! For many, that phrase conjures thoughts of hot, humid and sticky weather and sleepless nights. But for others, it means that Congress is out and we can all take a deep breath. That's how I am currently feeling! With our Annual Conference now behind us, healthcare off the table, and appropriation requests moving forward, NACDD can take a breather too and refocus on what is important - you! The member DD Councils in each state and territory are always our focus and everything we do leads back to providing supports and opportunities that help you do your job at the local level. During the Annual Conference we had loads of great plenary and breakout sessions that provided you with great information about a variety of topics and best and promising practices were shared. We are excited about your feedback and want you to continue to let us know what your needs are so that we can do our best to address them. As summer fades to early fall, we will once again ask for network members to serve on our NACDD committees. That is where your voice can be very beneficial as we work to engage your ideas for implementing solutions to solve your problems. Please look for an invitation this fall to join a committee or share your thoughts about what you need from NACDD. Meanwhile, have a great August!

Best,
Donna

REPORTING
There are two reporting items due August 15, 2017.  The first is State Plan Amendments and the second is responses to the 5-Year State Plan Tier 2 Summary Report/comments for select Councils.
As you know, a state plan amendment is an addition or deletion of a 5-Year State plan goal, and a goal change that changes the intent of the original goal.  All other changes would be considered "State plan updates" and are not due until January 1.

Councils with Tier 2 Repo rt Responses due August 15, 2017 are:
Alabama, Alaska, American Samoa, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Guam, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Vermont, Virgin Islands, Washington State, and West Virginia.

Tier 2 responses and State plan amendments should be submitted through the ACL Reporting System. The URL address is:  https://reporting-pilot.acl.gov/
If you are making a State plan amendment, please complete the section titled "State plan changes".  If you are only addressing Tier 2 comments, you do not need to complete this section.

Finally, please double check your ACL Reporting System dashboard to ensure you have submitted all sections of the report.  If you do not see the word "submit", please review, approve, and submit the sections.

As always, please contact us for any assistance.
