FIT 10 Year Anniversary

In January 2007 I embarked on a new endeavor as a personal trainer with the thought of working with a handful of clients for 2-3 sessions a week as a way to supplement my teaching income and eliminate the  need  to teach summer school.  At the time I didn't realize that my competitive nature would kick in and I would expand to the level we are at today.

From my very first clients Kelly Cimoli and Greta Jackson to the hundreds since who have trusted me and Focused Integrated Training with the privledge of serving your fitness needs and helping you accomplish your goals,  it has been an honor to be part of your journeys.

We are celebrating our 10 years during October (the 10th month) with some give-aways.

Here's the deal: everyone who attends at least 10 classes or FIT Events (they all count) during the month of September will  be entered into a drawing for a FIT Hat or a FIT towel. Both are super cool and we will giving away 10 of each.

Open Boot Camp - Labor Day (Tomorrow)
Monday Sept. 4 @ 8:00 a.m.
Labor Day 
Join us Monday morning for a fun and challenging boot camp class. Open to all FIT members and guests. This will be the only class on Labor day so come and get your work out in early.

FIT Nutrition - Spartan Nutrition

1 large head broccoli

2-3 cloves garlic

2 tbsp coconut oil

Pinch of sea salt to taste


  1. Fill large pot with an inch of water, and bring to boil.
  2. Chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces, and add to pot of boiling water. Cover and turn heat down to medium.
  3. Meanwhile, mince garlic.
  4. Check on broccoli after 10 minutes of cooking. Cook until you can spike your fork through broccoli with ease.
  5. Strain water from pot and add coconut oil, garlic, and salt.
  6. Mix thoroughly and serve!

Our first 21 Day Challenge was 100% successful. Each participant lost between 5-9 lbs, inches off their waist and lowered their body fat percent up to 4.5%. Explore the newly opened Mt. Umunhum
If you have lived in San Jose and occasionally looked west to the Santa Cruz Mountains you have seen the peak with the interesting box on top. That is Mt. Umunhum. From 1957 to 1980 that box served as the base of a radar used by the US Air Force to monitor our airspace during the Cold War. The area has been cleaned up and prepared to be visited by the public to experience expansive views and natural beauty. It will be open to the public for the first time on Sept. 18. The FIT Hiking Club will be exploring it on September 24 at 7 a.m.
