Join the Robotics Team as we learn about power tools on Wednesday at 2:45 PM in room 123.


Adopt-a-family was a success thanks to all of your great donations! Overall we have collected 477 food items, 282 toys and $282.00. The top three first hours that will receive a breakfast are: Ms. Shimshock in third place with 10.79 points per student, Mr. Cole in second place with 11.65 points per student and in first place is Ms. Harden with 17.44 points per student!! Thanks for all the great work and participation in this event!

Are you interested in being the next Ronnie the Ranger? Do you have availability for the Winter and/or Spring season? Come to a meeting on  Thursday, Dec. 15th at 2:45 in Miss Brett's room, room 371.  All you need to bring is your personality.

The Sadie Hawkin's dance is this Friday, Dec. 16th from 8-11 pm in the cafeteria.  The theme is black light.  Tickets will be on sale for $1.00 at all lunches  Tuesday- Friday and $5.00 at the door.  The ticket price is $1.00 as a THANK YOU to the student body for supporting student council in everything we do.

Remember anyone can go to a Sadie Hawkin's dance. Girls can ask boys, Boys can ask girls, Girls can ask girls, Boys can ask Boys, Friends can go together...okay you hopefully get the idea....have fun and join your friends and classmates for a fun time.

The December 15th regular application deadline for the U of M, Twin cities is just around the corner. All students who submit a complete application by the December 15, 2016 will receive their decisions by March 31, 2017. (Students who submitted a complete application by the November 1 priority deadline will receive a decision by the end of January.)   Please note that students who apply or whose applications become complete after December 15 will be considered for admission on a space-available basis. After  December 15  space is limited and admission is more competitive.

Attention Clay Target Team: Those interested in applying for Captain this year should pick up a Captains Application from Coach Spears in Room 357. Application deadline is  Friday December 16th.

Semester 2 parking permit applications will be available to apply on  FeePay (on a parent's SchoolView account).  Because of our limited spaces please apply early.  Just a note:  Parking passes are not currently open to Sophomores.  Please keep looking at the announcements to see if passes are open to Sophomores.

Tutoring will only be offered to students enrolled in classes at the high school (we have some 9th graders and ALC students).
Here is the schedule:
Mondays,  2:40:-4:30   Math/Spanish and French
Tuesdays,  2:40-4:30 Social Studies/ Math and Chemistry
Wednesdays  2:40-3:30 Chemistry
Thursdays  2:40-4:30 Math/Bio/general sciences

We will also offer tutoring  Monday- Thursday mornings from  7:00-7:55.  These sessions must be set up in advance.

The timeline to place an order for "Ad for Grad" and put an additional picture of your child in the yearbook is coming to  a close .  January 6th is the deadline for getting your ad into the yearbook by emailing pictures and a message to  yearbook@flaschools.org .  Please remember to place your order for your yearbook, if you have not already done so, by   clicking here.


School calendar change coming 2017

A calendar shift has been approved by the school board for the 2017-2018 school year. In 2017, the first day of school will be  August 21st and the last day of school in the spring of 2018 will be May 23rd, two weeks earlier than usual. This one-year calendar adjustment will allow extra time in the summer to complete construction projects at many of the district's buildings without disrupting student learning.
 
The school year calendar returns to normal in 2018-2019, with the first day of school scheduled after labor day and the last day scheduled for early June.
