Since the late 1970s, Castello di Ama has been a leader in one of Italy's most storied production zones, Chianti Classico. Partners in life and in work, owners Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti have made it their personal mission to rehabilitate the reputation of this much-misunderstood wine as well as to push the boundaries of what is possible in the Chianti zone. The pair produces a varied but laser-focused range: an unctuous, layered blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio called Al Poggio, a beautifully crisp rosato, three glorious Chianti-the standard bottling, the monolithic single-vineyard Bellavista and the Merlot-inflected La Casuccia-and two 'Super-Tuscans' based on Merlot and Pinot Noir, respectively (L'Apparita and Il Chiuso).

We are overjoyed to be welcoming Lorenza back to Mozza for her third visit. This time, instead of a formal dinner, we thought we would try something a little more casual: flights of wine and small plates at Mozza's Scuola di Pizza. We will be pouring two flights of the estate's current releases, one consisting of the white blend, the rosato, and the Chianti Classico, and one flight composed of Lorenza's top-tier 2007s, including Bellavista, La Casuccia, and L'Apparita. To pair with the wines, we'll be offering a selection of Tuscan-inspired small plates prepared a la minute by Chef Matt Molina, each priced between $4 and $12 and including such favorites as Arancini al Porcini, Pollo Arrosto, Pane Pomodoro, and many more. Lorenza will be on hand the entire evening to answer any questions and walk you through the wines as you enjoy them.

No fee for admission. No reservation required. All items-including wines-available a la carte.  Drop by any time between 6PM and 9PM to sample these incredible wines and have a bite!
