Announcing Game Guild Day at FNC!!

We had an excellent day this past Saturday for Table Top day. We would like to keep the fun going, so, starting next Saturday, April 13th at 10 a.m., FNC will host GAME GUILD DAY!

Game Guild Day will be held the 2nd Saturday of each month and give our board gamers a chance to get in a full day of gaming.

GAME GIVE-AWAY

To mark this special occasion, we plan to have a game give-away drawing at some point during the day. Only two things are required to win, you must be present, and a guild member. More details to follow. Here is the link to FNC's Gaming Guild on Board Game Geek:

LOVE LETTER

All of the eligible young men (and many of the not-so-young) seek to woo the princess of Tempest. Unfortunately, she has locked herself in the palace, and you must rely on others to bring your romantic letters to her. Will yours reach her first?

Love Letter is a game of risk, deduction, and luck for 2-4 players. Your goal is to get your love letter into Princess Annette's hands while deflecting the letters from competing suitors. From a deck with only sixteen cards, each player starts with only one card in hand; one card is removed from play. On a turn, you draw one card, and play one card, trying to expose others and knock them from the game. Powerful cards lead to early gains, but make you a target. Rely on weaker cards for too long, however, and your letter may be tossed in the fire!

How to play Love Letter

ZPOCALYPSE

Zpocalypse is a survival board game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Two to four players start in a basement/fallout shelter which can lead out to several base locations or even through the tunnels to sewer grates throughout the transformable board.

The survivors are trying to make it day to day in a world torn apart from the walking dead.

As in any survival game, one needs food, guns, ammo, and more. Players go out into the wasteland and scavenge for supplies, or perhaps to find a new gun or melee weapon to fend off the next zombie attack.

In addition to gathering supplies, each player forms and controls his own squad - and each squad works to fortify the bases. Your walls and barbed wire won't hold the dead for long, however, and they're getting hungry.

Characters receive victory points for killing zombies, building defenses, and successfully completing goals. Victory points show who is soldiering on the best in this wasteland. The final tally of points determines the winner.

The game combines combat, tactics, resource collecting, character development, team play, and strategy towards the goal of surviving in the Zpocalypse!

Behind the fa�ade of the great Gotham City lies an active underworld of criminal activity. In Batman: Gotham City Strategy Game, you'll play as one of Gotham City's greatest villains - The Joker, The Penguin, Killer Croc, or Two-Face - and lead your gang of henchmen to try to become the King of Crime in Gotham City! But beware, as your hold on the city increases, so does the chance of your plans being foiled by Gotham's protector - Batman!

Heroclix at FNC

It was quite a day on Saturday! We saw some Batman villains run amok with a playthrough of the Gotham City Strategy Game, an impressive 3D city built by master terrain-builder Rich, and quite a few nasty teams hit the table for our regular Clix game. Green Lanterns, Avengers, Justice League - even Fin Fang Foom made an appearance!

This week is a big one, as it's the next in the series of a special multi-month event, No Man's Land. Last year Wizkids introduced this new format with Infinity Gauntlet, where participants battled it out through time and space and collected their own Infinity Gems. This year, we're recreating the events of the iconic Batman story, where the maps change mid-game when the earthquake hits!

A new wrinkle this time around is that players align themselves with a certain gang for control of the devastated Gotham City. So far at our venue, Two-Face took a commanding early lead, but Killer Croc has risen through the ranks for a close second. This is the penultimate event, so keep an eye on this space over the next month for the final tallies!

Tzolkin: The Mayan Calendar

This innovative strategy game was one of last year's best. A network of gears in the center of the board slowly increases the benefit players receive from workers placed in prior turns. The gears also double as the game timer, so place carefully! With several paths to victory, Tzolkin offers players complex but rewarding decisions. Come by FNC to give the awesome game a try.
