FOP SERGEANTS' EXAM PRACTICE TEST

CLICK HERE TO SEE CIVIL SERVCE ANNOUNCEMENT 4

The Civil Service Department has released Information Bulletin #4 (click above link) providing the test plan for the upcoming NOPD Sergeant's examination.  This test plan will allow candidates to better prepare for the test by providing a detailed listing of knowledge, skills and abilities to be tested, along with the weights assigned to each test section.

With this document in hand, the Fraternal Order of Police is able to move forward with its plans to hold a practice written examination for police officers who intend to take the sergeants' examination.

The practice test session will be held:

           Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 10:00am - 2:00pm

University of New Orleans (lakefront campus)

           Engineering Building - room 101

This practice test, opened to ALL NOPD officers regardless of association affiliation or membership, will attempt to provide candidates with a realistic testing environment.  We would urge all eligible officers to take advantage of this opportunity.

There is no need to call or register in advance, just show up at the facility on the date and time announced above.

It is our plan to provide a short introduction with a question and answer session, followed by a two-hour session where a realistic practice written examination will be distributed to candidates to complete on-site.  Following the examination period, correct answers to the questions will be provided and discussions allowed.

The Fraternal Order of Police, Crescent City Lodge would like to thank NOPD Captain Heather Kouts and retired NOPD Lieutenant Susan Graham for their assistance in making this practice test a reality.  We would also like to extend our thanks to the University of New Orleans for allowing us to use the facility.

Refreshments (soft drinks, coffee, water, snacks) will be available before and after the practice test session.  We will also make available the materials from our previous preparation classes, and any thumb drives remaining.

Beginning on Monday, October 14, 2013, the Fraternal Order of Police will make copies of the practice test and answer sheet available to any candidate who was not able to attend the practice test session.
