Mental Health Debate:  
Is the government doing enough to help vets?

Neli Vazquez-Rowland, president of A Safe Haven Foundation, joined FOX 32 News Wednesday to discuss the ongoing problem of mental illness in veterans.

 

"8,000 veterans are killing themselves a year," Vazquez-Rowland says. "About 25% of the homeless across the country are veterans, especially in urban areas. In Chicago, there have been reports that 28-30% of the homeless are those who previously wore uniform." Vazquez-Rowland has worked with more than 1,000 veterans so far this year alone.  Read full story.

The Infinite Scholars Program, Chicago Teachers Union and others will serve as hosts of the Annual College Scholarship Expo, scheduled on September 26 & 27, 2013. Infinite Scholars Program, Inc's mission is to provide low income and first generation high school students with the resources and guidance that is necessary for them to successfully further their education at accredited institutions of higher learning.  The Scholarship Fair will feature top Universities ready to accept and provide financial scholarships to students!   Parents and High School Juniors & Seniors must attend!
