A Message From The Chapter President,
Craig J. Ferrantino
Congratulations to our FPA Long Island members! You survived the first major tax haul since the 1980s! This is a great time to talk to clients, the press, and anyone else who would listen and let them know what you as a CFP, CPA, or Affiliated Professional thinks about this change and how it may affect them. Clients need us more than ever to help guide them through these significant changes!

Our Chapter has had some insightful events of late, from our Microsoft Cyber Security workshop to our Monthly Membership meeting on Social Security planning and Medicare Facts.

Thanks to our program committee Larry Sangirardi and Cliff Walsh for planning the Chapter Meeting at a new venue, the Radisson Hotel in Hauppauge, and Board Member Dan Mazzola and Doreen Marino for presenting the topics for the evening. Not only was the presentations great, the food and service was great as well!

The Board of Directors and I have reviewed the 2017 financials of our FPA LI Chapter. I happy to share that our chapter is becoming more healthy than in the past and we are thankful to all of the BOD and our accountant Scott Sanders for his sage bookkeeping.

The past month’s Journal of Financial Planning asks What inspires you? What makes you want to be the best you can be in your career, your family or your community? As financial professionals we help people achieve their goals, their balance with finances which reflect the balance in their lives, we are Life Planners.  George Kinder, known as the father of the life planning movement states that “Life Planning is financial planning done right.” He believes “life Planning is fundamentally a listening skill” along with mindfulness; and you can’t be a life planner unless you yourself are living your plan.

Let the FPA help you live your plan and be the best you can be in your professional and personal life. Attend the chapter meetings and the Symposium to earn CE credits, network with your colleagues at the Fee Advisor Group, Social Events and the Golf Outing. Know any newcomers to the industry? Encourage them to attend a NEXGEN meeting. (They don’t have to be an FPA member to attend).  Live your Life Plan!

By the way, were you ever published, interviewed or filmed? Let us know and we will share your success with the membership.

Thank you for your support, and I hope to see you at the next FPA event!

Sincerely,
Craig
