ABOUT
US:
The Show Low Main Street
Farmers' Market & Art
Walk
is a BRAND NEW Market,
nearing
completion of our FIRST SEASON!
Designed to showcase the BEST
of the White Mountains in locally
grown produce, arts, craft, and
entertainment, our dedicated local
vendors depend on your support.
Like many things, we started small
and have had our share of
challenges--less-than-cooperative
weather, construction, location issues
(EVERYBODY knows where
"Trunk or Treat" is, though--same
place!)--it's all growing pains!
Our great vendors have lives outside
the Market and some occasionally
miss a day, but they depend on your
support to keep the Market going,
so make it a "habit" to come on down
and join us each week for local
entertainment, fresh veggies,
awesome local beef and farm-fresh
eggs, and unique handcrafted items!
In the works, we have educational
workshop, programs for children, and
other special events that will come to
fruition next season, so we hope you'll
continue to join us!
Please "Pardon Our Dust" as we do our
best to get bigger and better, and stay
tuned--our NEXT season is just around
the corner! We thank you ALL for your
support--and
hope to
"See you at the Market!"

Every week we have new
vendors joining us for the most
vibrant and FUN Market on the
Mountain! We're not just a
Farmers' Market & Art Walk,
we're a community experience!
What makes us different?
*We do more advertising
than
all other Markets in the
area
combined: TV commercials,
radio PSAs, print advertising
both on the mountain AND in
the Valley, our weekly
e-newsletter (currently going
out to over 200 people per
week!) as well as online via our
website, Facebook and Twitter!
*We provide LIVE
entertainment,
educational workshops or
special events every Saturday
*We've got a GREAT location
in
the heart of downtown Show Low
right on the Deuce!
*Our vendors are EXCLUSIVELY
local, and all items sold
at the
Market are handmade or
homegrown--you'll NEVER
be competing against mass-
produced items or anything
trucked in from hundreds of
miles out of town.
So if you reside within 50 miles
of the city of Show Low
for at least half the year and
you'd like you offer your
handmade or homegrown items
at the Show Low Main street
Farmers' Market & Art Walk,
we'd love to hear from you!
We need to have your
application on file one week in
advance of your first Market
Saturday so we can get you
on our Special Event permit,
so please click the "contact us"
link at the top of the page
with any questions, or fill
out our vendor application
request--link below.
Don't miss out on what's becoming
the biggest Market in the Mountains!

Recipe
of the Week:
Avocado Corn Salsa

|
|
|
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado, cut into
1/2-inch dice
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 ripe red tomato, seeded and diced
1 ear sweet corn, shucked
1 chopped scallion
1 jalapeno or serrano chile, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh
cilantro
Coarse salt
Freshly ground black
pepper
Directions:
Place the avocado in the bottom
of a nonreactive mixing bowl and
gently toss with 2 tablespoons of
the lime juice. Spoon the tomato
on top of the avocado.
Cut the kernels off the corn.
The easiest way to do this is to
lay the cob flat on a cutting board
and remove the kernels with
lengthwise strokes of a chef's
knife. Add the corn kernels to the
mixing bowl.
The salsa can be prepared to this
stage up to 2 hours ahead.
Refrigerate it, covered.
Just before serving, add the
scallions, jalapeno and cilantro
to the mixing bowl and gently
toss to mix.
Taste for seasoning, adding more
lime juice as necessary and
season with salt and pepper
to taste; the salsa should be
highly seasoned. |
