PARK SERVICE DENIES PERMIT TO DISPLAY HUGE NAKED STATUE ON NATIONAL MALL
The National Park Service has denied a permit that activists had requested to construct a 45-foot-tall statue of a naked woman near the Washington Monument, The Washington Post reports.
Organizers for the "Catharsis on the Mall" festival, a three-day event next month described as a "vigil for healing," were reportedly denied the permit due to a height restriction for temporary structures on the National Mall. . . .
