MORE Seats for Suffragette!

Meryl Streep as Emmeline Pankhurst says
Join GGRWHC at the Movies on Friday

We sold out our small theater for Suffragette at Celebration Cinema North. But now we have one TWICE AS LARGE! Plan  to join us on Friday, Nov. 20. Theater doors open at 6:15 p.m, and, after a brief introduction at 6:45 p.m., the 106-minute film begins. The cost is $10. RSVP on our updated EventBrite site:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/suffragette-tickets-19303778120

Since Celebration Cinema jumped the gun and opened the film last Friday, GGRWHC is no longer hosting a premiere. Now we are hosting an
EVENT, and television cameras may be there! After the film in our now more comfortable theater, GVSU women's historian Gretchen Galbraith will share her response to
Suffragette: when its history is good and how the British and American women's movements were related. Note: Grand Rapids has an early and proud suffrage history. Come and learn about the making of women's history!

Remember to print your ticket from EventBrite and bring it with you. Check for updates on our   website ,   Facebook , and Twitter. On event night look for our table in the lobby for up-to-the-minute information. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the 106-minute film begins at 6:45 p.m. Come early! Cinema North: northwest corner of Knapp and the Beltline at 2121 Celebration Drive NE.

In a cameo performance Meryl Streep appears as British suffrage leader Emmeline Pankhurst, while Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter play foot soldiers in the movement. For a two-minute trailer, click here.
