WOW!

Another incredible Fun Run! Last Saturday morning under perfect temperatures close to 600 runners and walkers joined together to circle the Crown of Queen Anne and help raise money to support our work. YOU ARE ALL AMAZING, thank you!!

Our goal with this event is always first and foremost to create an inclusive, fun community event and on that note I think we hit it out of the park! We also raised critical funds for the Helpline, about $40,000, that will be used to provide emergency housing, food and basic needs assistance to neighbors living in Queen Anne, Magnolia and South Lake Union during times of hardship.

Special thanks to Steve Raible for his wonderful guest announcing and awarding of prizes after the race. How cool to have a KIRO news anchor and Seahawks announcer come to support the Helpline and his community! We are so grateful for his generosity.

This event happens every year because of hundreds of volunteer hours. Krijn de Jonge, Helpline board member, chaired the event this year and did a fantastic job. He had tremendous assistance from Beamar Huetter, Christopher Togawa, Ann Pearce, Laurie Elofson, Barbara Mays, a fantastic team of Ham radio operators led by Franz Niedermeyer, and about 60 others who filled critical roles all along the way.

Title sponsor Metropolitan Market along with top sponsors HomeStreet Bank, Rainier Investment Management, and Steve Kennedy/Remax, along with 19 other local businesses helped underwrite the cost of this event, please join us in thanking them by supporting their businesses. You can see a full list of our sponsors with links to their websites at: www.QueenAnneHelpline.org

I know everyone greatly appreciated the water provided by Metropolitan Market, City Eye Care and Queen Anne Chiropractic Center, as well as the snacks donated by Trader Joe's. The wonderful team at Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy again led the group in stretching beforehand, thank you! And a big shout out to businesses who provided our great assortment of raffle prizes.

Last but not least, congratulations to our winners! A full listing of participants and times will be posted on our website next week, along with photos courtesy of Tonya Perfect/Intentional Images.
