“A library in the middle of a community is a cross between an emergency exit, a life-raft and a festival. They are cathedrals of the mind; hospitals of the soul; theme parks of the imagination. On a cold rainy island, they are the only sheltered public spaces where you are not a consumer, but a citizen instead”

Dementia Friends Training

Dementia Friends is about giving more people an understanding of dementia and the small things that could make a difference to people living in their community.

Whether you have been personally affected, know of people in your community who live with dementia, or just want to learn more, becoming a Dementia Friends is an easy way to make a positive change in the lives of those around you.
