Practice Discipleship

On Saturday, August 27, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Practice Discipleship is being offered here at Faith. Join them as they engage in Wondering Through Service Learning and Wondering in Prayer , led by our Southeastern Iowa Synod Practice Discipleship coach, Sonja Gerstenberger. If you are someone who deals with outreach/mission (i.e. Sunday School, Confirmation, Mission Trips, etc.), this will help you think about the work in terms of not just "helping people" but crafting service learning opportunities for all involved. The Practice Discipleship Initiative will:

Educate. Train leadership to accompany young people on their faith journey.
Connect. Develop partnerships to strengthen faith formation opportunities for and with young people.
Renew. Gather leaders for mutual support and encouragement in ministry.

The afternoon prayer experience is a nice way of rounding out the learning and providing opportunities to explore a variety of prayer experiences. The training is free! To le arn more about Practice Discipleship or see all of our upcoming trainings, and register online. (http://seiasynod.org/ministries/youth-young-adults/practicediscipleship/).
