Mary Virginia Merrick
Happy Birthday Mary Virginia Merrick!

November 2nd marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of our founder, Mary Virginia Merrick. Wheel-chair bound, she started the Christ Child Society with friends and family to help broaden her reach.  Nearly 50 chapters later, it just goes to show that a woman with vision can really make a difference!!! Tutoring Program at OLHC

Our tutoring program is back!  We meet at St. Teresa's on Tuesday mornings to carpool to Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC) School - and we LOVE working with the students there who greet us with hugs and smiles! We're usually back by 10:45am, after making a difference in the life of an OLHC student. The more members who come, the more children we can help, so we're hoping you'll join us.  Use the link and sign up!

Knitting Angels

The rumors are true - knitting is good for your health and, when you're knitting adorable tiny toppers for our layettes, it's good for your soul too!  Knitting angels gathered in a lovely home setting to enjoy a social and productive knitting session. Many more meetings are planned throughout the year. Don't be shy, no experience needed!

Great Morning of Reflection!

All the seats were filled at St. Joseph's Retreat Center to hear Dennis Corcoran lead us through a thought-provoking discussion about the journey of St. Paul and how it applies to our own lives. What a treat to take some time to feed our spirits surrounded by friends! Now we're ready to tackle a project or two. Looking to help out?  Visit our Volunteer Corner.

First National Service Day

On October 22, over 30 chapters across the nation met to build layettes in honor the of our founder Mary Virginia Merrick's 150th birthday. Personally assembled layettes are the hallmark of the Christ Child organization.  Our chapter literally touched every facet of our own unique layettes.  Many thanks to all those who joined the effort!

8th Annual Rummage Sale

A HUGE THANK YOU to all those who helped to make our 8th Annual Collectibles and Delectables Rummage Sale such a success!  Whether you donated, cleaned, sorted, staged, priced, sold or bought -- we are very thankful for our amazing volunteers who helped raise funds for our programs.  It's never too late to start putting things aside for next year!

Annual School Supplies Drive

Another successful collaboration!  Partnering once again with Bridges Outreach, Christ Child volunteers reached 382 children in need in our community and helped to outfit them with everything from pencils to backpacks to ensure another year of academic readiness.  Kudos to all for a job well done!
