Alumna Spotlight
Congratulations to Dr. Sara Bleich, B.E.S.T. and Garrison Forest School Alumna '96, who has been named a Class of 2015-2016 White House Fellow. Sara's fellowship began in August, and she will spend the year working as a Special Advisor for Policy on Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Dale Carnegie Training Mid-Atlantic Partnership with B.E.S.T.
This summer, through our continued partnership, nine B.E.S.T. students participated in the Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program comprised of 18 high school students from the Baltimore area. Two B.E.S.T. students who participated previously were invited to return as "coaches" for this summer's program. The Dale Carnegie Young Adult Leadership Program takes place each Sunday for nine weeks. Upper school students
learned how to maximize their full potential while building the self-confidence necessary to seek leadership roles and responsibilities.

B.E.S.T. Back to School Family Celebration
In August, over 250 B.E.S.T. students and family members joined the B.E.S.T. staff at The Ward Center at St. Paul's School for Girls and St. Paul's School as we said goodbye to summer and prepared for the start of the new school year with camaraderie, fellowship and fun. A scavenger hunt, face-painting and a photo booth were highlights of the evening. We look forward to this event each August, as we welcome our new families into the B.E.S.T. community, and see our returning students as they get ready for the fall.
Scramble for Baltimore
Thank you to B.E.S.T. Trustee, Alex Kirby of M&T Bank, for co-chairing the 2015 Scramble for Baltimore Golf Outing which benefits the Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust and The William S. Baer School. The sold-out event took place on Wednesday, September 16th where 120 golfers teed-off at the Mountain Branch Golf Course in support of deserving students in Baltimore. We are deeply grateful to all of the event sponsors, golfers and co-chairs Alex Kirby and Chris Kastendike for raising funds and awareness on behalf of B.E.S.T. and the Baer School.
