10 Health TV
Celebrating 5 Years
10 Health TV - Busy as Ever!

In January 2017, 10 Health TV will celebrate its 5th anniversary with over 575 videos produced, covering a wide variety of health and wellness topics relevant to the Lincoln community.
 
New programs this year include the Get Up and Go series featuring new "outside the box" ways to stay active and the Homestead Cooking series highlighting health and tasty cultural cuisine.

Where can you find 10 Health programming? 10 Health TV programs can be viewed on television (Time Warner Cable digital channel 71.15, Windstream channel 10) on a computer or smartphone streaming live on l incoln.ne.gov or YouTube channel: 10HealthLincoln. 10 Health TV also has a community calendar at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: 10 Health). Soon viewers will find 10 Health on Allo as well.

Harvest Moon Festival
The Asian Community and Cultural Center hosts the Harvest Moon Festival celebrating Asian cultures on September 17 from 4 - 8 PM at Antelope Park, 27th & A Sts.  Fun for the whole family.  Find out more on their FaceBook page.

Free Outdoor Movement Festival Celebrates
Active Living, Good Nutrition
Streets Alive is two miles of traffic-free fitness, dance, music, food, great health resources, and fun.  Hosted by the East Campus, Clinton, and Hartley neighborhoods - GET A ROUTE MAP.  You can enter or exit anywhere along the route that winds through trails, parks, playgrounds, and community gardens. 
 What's at Streets Alive! ?

                      FREE HEALTH RESOURCES
   
All along the walking route, find nearly 100 exhibitors with fun and interactive health and wellness information. 
 
Find support and care resources for all ages and walks of life.  
FITNESS CLASSES, SPORTS DEMONSTRATIONS
Whether its Zumba or yoga, martial arts, roller blading, or wrestling join in or learn new things as you walk, stroll, or bike the route.
 
You can also bring your skateboard, basketball, or tennis racquet and take advantage of tennis or basketball courts, skate parks, or "Defy Gravity" in oversized soccer bubbles.
 
SPECIAL SPORTS GUESTS
Meet former pro football player and Husker standout, Jay Foreman, now CEO of the Foreman Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to diabetes education.  Look for other special, surprise guests on the basketball courts at Clinton Elementary and Peter Pan Park.
 

MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC

 

Variety is our middle name! From jazz to rock, hip hop to polka, played on electric guitars or ukuleles, we've got music for you. 

 

Along the route and on stage, you find fan favorites Tuna Fish Jones and the kid friendly String Beans as well as newcomers Less Talk More Polka, Cool Poppas, and Erosion.

DANCE, MAGIC, BALLOONS, BOUNCE HOUSES 

Come dance in the streets!  If dance is your thing, you can enjoy square dancing, hip hop, jazz, ballet, and marvel at the beauty of wheelchair dance. 

 

Kids will love the magic shows, face painting, and bounce houses, as well as the games and interactive displays at the wellness exhibits. 

        GREAT FOOD
Whether it's fresh produce from Community Crops, school gardens or Kelly's Produce; or tasty and healthy choices from Pepe's, Heoya, or Gelato to Go, Streets Alive is in good taste. 
 
You can stay cool and hydrated as you walk the route with the traveling hydration stations from Springo Aqua Systems. 

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln (PHL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, wellness, and fitness of our community. We collaborate with other organizations on joint projects to improve health by increasing physical fitness, promoting good nutrition, supporting breastfeeding, and improving cancer screening rates.
 
Our work includes improving health and wellness policies, conducting community level research, and evaluation of the success of local health initiatives.
