Responding to Hurricane Harvey

Even before Hurricane Harvey made landfall, the United Methodist Commission on Relief (UMCOR) was preparing to help the people in its path. Last Sunday our congregation donated $2,949 to assist UMCOR, which uses 100% of its donations for relief efforts. Visit the UMCOR website to read about its most recent recovery efforts.

As flood waters recede and assessment of losses begins, UMCOR will coordinate the deployment of work crews to assist residents. If you are interested in joining a possible work crew from First Church, sign up on Sunday at the Information Desk or send an email to [email protected].
"Rocks or Blocks"
Living faithfully by Jesus' teachings comes at a cost; wishing otherwise is a stumbling block to our faith. By our choices we can be stumbling blocks to others or we can become foundational, "living stones".
First Church Ministries Highlights
During worship we express our appreciation for the wide variety of critical ministries to which our friends and members give their gifts of time and energy as an offering to God. There are many ways we can give to God and serve our neighbors. Maybe you will be inspired!
