How I Spent My Summer. . .

From music lessons in the Catskills to camp for immigrant children in Port Chester, to reading enrichment in the Bronx, Episcopal Charities funded 15 parish-based youth programs in July and August, focusing on the arts, academics, and recreation. The programs are a godsend for low-income children and their working parents, who would otherwise struggle to afford high-quality care and enrichment activities when school is not in session.  Click here to see a photo gallery and read highlights from the summer.

Volunteer Pilot Program

When we ask parishes about their greatest outreach needs, they often reply: Volunteers! In response, Episcopal Charities has launched a pilot program to match volunteers with outreach programs in Manhattan and the Bronx. After a six-month pilot phase, we hope to expand to other regions of the diocese. Read more about the program, or complete our volunteer application for individuals or groups. Meet volunteer coordinator Rachel Crosby and read about other staff changes here.
