Welcome to ARAC's first quarterly e-newsletter. This newsletter coincides with ARAC's quarterly grant deadlines. This will allow us to supply you with timely information about ARAC's programs and services without bogging you down with individual, monthly e-newsletters.
I want to highlight a couple of items that you will find in this newsletter. October 28th, 2016, is the next grant deadline and those grant programs' online applications are already open. Look for upcoming grant writing workshops, and staff are also available if you need help submitting an application.
November 18th, 2016, is the deadline to nominate an individual for the Arrowhead Arts Awards. If you know of an artist or arts advocate living in the region who should be recognized for their work, consider nominating them for one of these prestigious awards. Please help us to identify the many worthy artists and advocates in the region.
As a community member, you can become involved with the Council in two ways: become a Board member or consider serving as a grants review panel member. Serving on the Board or becoming a grant panel member is a great way to learn more about our regional arts community, the Council, its programs, and the grant review process.
I hope you find the new quarterly format informative and helpful. Get out and enjoy the fall colors and attend an arts activity in your community. Go to ARAC's website to check out our online calendar of funded events taking place around the region.

NOW SEEKING: Board Members and Grant Review Panelists
Grant Review Panelists:
ARAC is currently seeking individuals from the Arrowhead Region who are interested in serving on Grant Review Panels. Serving as a grant review panelist is a great opportunity for those who wish to serve with ARAC, but cannot commit to a 3 year board term. Panelists meet 1-2 times a year to review grant applications to the ARAC grant programs. Being a panelist is also a great way to learn about the granting process and how ARAC reviews and awards grants.
Board Members:
ARAC also currently has 2 openings on our Board for a member representative for Aitkin County, and a member representative for Koochiching County. Board members meet 10 times a year to review grant applications and to facilitate arts development in the Arrowhead Region. Members must reside in the county they are representing.
