Final Rounds Make the Difference in Rental League Crown

On Friday, October 14th, 2016 a new Pitt Race Rental Race League fall champion was crowned. The Rental league is a great opportunity for new, young, or just interested drivers to test their skills. The 2016 fall league was one of the most successful leagues in the past few years with over 18 racers at each round. As it is fall, these racers battled through a variety of conditions and weather including heat, cold, rain, sun, and a shortening day. All racers represented themselves well and competed aggressively but respectfully as is expected in this series.

For those who aren't aware, Pitt Race Karting runs two rental race leagues per year, on scheduled Friday's at 5:30 p.m. Drivers are split into two groups based on weight to make it as fair as possible. Each group participates in a qualifying session, pre-final and final. Starting spot is based off of lap times and position finished in the pre-final. Drivers get a full race experience with a standing start and corner marshals out on track. Each Rental League season is 5 races. Drivers also receive the opportunity to race different track configurations throughout the season to keep things interesting.

Five racers managed to show up to all five rounds of the fall league, paying off with top placements for each. Tight racing led to changes in top spot each and every week creating quiet the story as new comer racers came and went in various rounds. Bryan Henderson (Bubba) just squeaked into the top five with 76 points. Warren Croyle (Red Five) and Doug Borsch (Yoshi) battled back and forth each will for the third and fourth spot with Bosch pulling out the third place in the last round. Finally Sean Frederick (Sean Frederick) and Josh Nessel (Lessenjr) attened every event and made a hard charge for the championship. Nessel took the early lead in rounds one through three with Frederick showing up and challenging in rounds four and five. However, Frederick's late charge wasn't enough to over take Nessel's lead and Nessel's walks away with the 2016 Fall Rental Race League Championship at Pitt Race.

Congrats to all of our racers and we look forward to new formats, new racers, and a return to the asphalt in the Spring of 2017!
