National Alliance for Youth Sports

Greenwich Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that we are now a Member Organization of the
National Alliance for Youth Sports. Our staff and volunteers who work with our youth sports programs will have access to NAYS Coach Online Training.
Part 1 gives an overview of a coach's role and responsibilities in youth sports including important aspects such as teaching sportsmanship, building confidence, the role of winning, injury prevention, youth sports violence, conditioning and stretching, and more.
Part 2 covers drills, skills and fundamentals of each specific sport.
Part 3 requires coaches agree to and sign a Code of Ethics for coaches.

Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink

Fall Sports
|
Fall Field Hockey registration is available in person only. Sections A2 and A3 are closed. There has been a change in the schedule. Grades 1&2 (A1) have the option to play Saturdays at 8 AM or Sundays at 2 PM. Grades 7&8 (A4) play Sunday afternoons.
Boys ages 8-12 can participate in a Fall Baseball Clinic for eight sessions. Experienced instruction will be provided outdoors in September and October. A new section was added on Thursdays to accommodate additional players. Register in person.
Fall Pickleball registration is open for adults. Register for one, two, or three days per week of play at EGCC.
Adults can still join a coed volleyball team. Play is Tuesday evenings at Western Middle School. Contact

Registration has begun for residents for
Platform Tennis. The courts at Loughlin Avenue will open early this year on September 30.

Fall Soccer
|
Registration is open on a limited basis in person only for
Fall Soccer for youth. Sections A1 and A2 are full. Play will be held on eight Saturdays at Havemeyer fields behind Town Hall. This program will focus on the fundamentals of soccer, which include passing, dribbling, trapping, and shooting through skill work and modified games
.
Super Soccer Stars will be running some youth soccer programs in the fall. Ages 6-8 will meet from 4:00 to 5:00 PM on Fridays and ages 9-12 will meet from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturdays, both at Loughlin Avenue field.

Eastern Greenwich Civic Center

Griffith E. Harris Golf Course

that the Metropolitan Golf Association, which is a region of the PGA, has selected our course to hold their 2018 Public Links Championship. That is a testament to the quality of our course and the reputation that it has! The date for the 36 hole tournament is June 20, 2018.

Recreation Credit and Refund Policy |
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program. There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits.
The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.
