Our first Sunday School unit of the year has started off with a bang - or maybe a loud trumpet! "Old Testament All Stars" is the theme for our first 5 week unit. During this time, the children are learning about:

Looking at your Heart
In science we learned how Samuel anointed David as the next king of Israel by looking at this heart, and not his outward appearance. We did experiments with making a rainbow crayon (to remind us to always look at someone's heart), and we broke down colors to learn that things aren't always what they appear to be on the outside. Learn more.
|
A Strong Man
Finally, we will be watching scenes from "Rookie of the Year" in the Movie Room and comparing the hero breaking his pitching arm to Sampson losing his strength. Learn more.

Our preschool class began learning about Joseph and they helped decorate a coat of many colors.

Our Sunday School program is hands-on and active. We believe this helps the children internalize the lessons we teach them. With so many negatives in our outside world (bullies, peer pressure - to name a few), please be sure to bring them to Sunday School for an hour of positive interactions, life-lasting lessons and faith formation. Friends are always welcome to come, too!
