First Annual Sleep Out a Success!

We are proud to share that on Friday, October 13, a group of committed supporters participated in Off the Street, On Their Feet: Sleep Out to Support Homeless Families, slept rough in our shelter yard in solidarity with homeless families and raised more than $23,500 to support Nicholas House programs!

Do you want to show your support for those who slept outside in our shelter yard-- and for homeless families? It isn't too late to give! The event donation page will remain active through October 31. Click here to visit the event page, make a gift before the end of the month and make an impact for homeless families.

You Can Help: Donate Thanksgiving Baskets!
While Thanksgiving is typically a time for families to celebrate, many of the homeless families in our programs do not have the resources to celebrate Thanksgiving with the traditional family meal.

Nicholas House supporters can make a real difference for families in our apartment-based programs by providing them with a basket stuffed with everything they need to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.

Are you interested in donating a Thanksgiving basket to a homeless family working toward a fresh start? We need 30 more baskets to meet the needs of families in our programs!

Click here to email Norma for the packing list and to sign up.

All baskets must be donated between November 6 and November 11 to give case managers enough time to deliver them to families before the holiday.
Client Success Story: Karen
Karen used to see homeless people on the street and feel sorry for them, but never thought that she and her daughter would be in that position themselves.

After a ll, she was a homeowner working a well-paying job and had established a stable life for her family.

Everything changed when she was laid off from her job at a bank, where she had worked for 15 years.
