THIS WEEK IN FAMILY FAITH...

GR. 2: Lessons 3 & 4-We will discuss the stories of Zacchaeus and the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes and appreciate that eating a meal together is a time of remembering and sharing. We will compare Jesus' Last Supper to our family meals and understand that we remember the Last Supper when we celebrate the Eucharist.

GR. 1 & 3-6: A Family of Faith: This month, we focus on the Holy Spirit-the third person of the Holy Trinity. The Holy Spirit was sent to the Apostles on Pentecost. We receive the Holy Spirit within us at Baptism and confirm it at Confirmation. The Holy Spirit lives in each of us-guiding us to live the life God calls us to.

Gr. 7 & 8: We are completing our Created for Love Workbooks this month-coming to better understand how God calls us to live out chastity and healthy relationships in our lives. Using our Visions Gospel Weekly, we will look closely at the events of Holy Week and how they continue they relate to the stories of the people of Israel., as well as the sustaining nature of prayer in our lives.

Movie: The Dating Project

This is a new project of a Holy Cross Family Ministries, Family Theater Productions.  We have partnered with Paulist Productions and Mpower Pictures on a documentary called, THE DATING PROJECT.  This film is a powerful snapshot into the fractured culture of young adults yearning for human connection and authentic relationship.

It follows five single people ages 18-40 as they navigate beyond the hookup culture to traditional dating. Professor Kerry Cronin from Boston College is featured throughout as she teaches and encourages her students to return to traditional dating.

I know this topic ... the family ... is important to you and to the work you do.  Together we can launch a vitally important conversation and minister to young people who ache for purpose, love and vocation.

What the film uncovers:
  • 50 % of America is single
  • The way people seek and find love has radically changed
  • The trends of hanging out, hooking up, texting, social media, and online porn use have created a dating deficit
  • Dating is now perceived as outdated-yet it's longed for
  • Beautiful sacramental marriage is the solution
  • The status quo is driving both the divorce culture and the abortion culture

A Strong Dating Culture Creates a Strong Marriage Culture!

THE DATING PROJECT provides a unique opportunity to expose the root problems that have taken hold of America and bring restoration and hope to single men and women and ultimately rebuild families, the domestic church.

The film will release on April 17, 2018, for a one-night only theatrical event nationwide and we need your support!

I'll be calling you to discuss your support.  Before I do, would you please:
    • Watch the trailer  HERE .
    • Consider watching the entire film and providing a testimonial in support of THE DATING PROJECT. (We will send a private, password protected link for screening)
    • Consider sharing your testimonial with the leadership of the Knights as well as local council leadership across the United States and encouraging them to support the film through either sponsoring a screening  in their local area or purchase a block of tickets to a screening in their local theater.
    • Consider sponsoring the film at the national level by providing a donation to sponsor theaters for the release.
    • Consider developing materials to continue the conversation and encourage young people to develop traditional dating practices and encourage parents on guiding their young people in dating appropriately.
