Family First Workshops
2 P.M – 4 P.M.
Designed for children in grades 1 through 6 and their favorite adult, these monthly workshops encourage making art together! Led by Reynolda House education specialists, families tour the Museum to view selected artworks in the historic house and galleries, which become the inspiration for a special art project back in the studio.

Art projects vary from month to month—plan your fall with your young learner below!

If you'd like to sign up for the entire season or prefer to pay by check, you can complete, print and mail  this registration form .
Cool Tiles Pool Party
Eager for a chance to swim in the Reynolda pool? Families for this workshop will spend the first portion creating coasters with ceramic tiles; then, during the second half, all will be able to swim in the historic pool.
Wearing Abstraction: Wire Workshop
Sculptor Alexander Calder created a stylized wire brooch for Georgia O’Keeffe using the letters "O-K." In this workshop, take initials from your own name to create a wearable accessory.

*Moved to second week of September because of the Labor Day holiday.
Study in Simplicity
Georgia O’Keeffe drew and painted natural forms, simplifying and abstracting the shapes. In this workshop, look carefully at natural items like shells, bones and plants and draw one with pastels.
Build a Bag
Artist Georgia O’Keeffe and Reynolda House owner Katharine Smith Reynolds both sewed their own clothing. Practice sewing construction by creating a small draw-string bag, decorated with a permanent leaf print.
Holiday Tour and Cardmaking
This traditional, annual workshop offers an opportunity to learn about holiday stories at Reynolda and make one-of-a-kind cards on the printing press and with our classic hand-carved stamps.
