Re-Enrollment Deadline This Weekend!
REMINDER:
- Re-enrollment this year is online through Parent's Web
- Regular $350 Registration Fee deadline is Sunday 4/30
- On Monday 5/1, the fee increases from $350 to $400 to reflect a $50 late fee
Thank you to those who have already re-enrolled your student and those who have paid your registration fee!
For those who have paid the fee but haven't completed the online re-enrollment, please remember that classes cannot be scheduled until the enrollment process is complete. The Academic Banquet is May 4
th!
The banquet recognizes those students
that have distinguished themselves in extracurricular activities of a scholarly nature as well as those students that have demonstrated excellence in the classroom as determined by their presence on the Dean's List or First Honors for all three quarters.
You may pick up your dinner tickets at the door, the night of the banquet. This is a wonderful event and I would like to add my congratulations to all the students that have merited this recognition.

Cavaliers Kick Off Partnership with Good Sam College
Attention Class of 2018 and 2019: New Dual Enrollment Courses Available for Next Year!
Purcell Marian is proud to be able to offer additional dual college credit courses through a partnership with the Good Samaritan College of Nursing and Allied Science. The courses that are being offered next year are available by clicking the link below. Students
wishing to take these courses must receive the recommendation of the teacher of the appropriate content area as well as meeting the requirements of Good Samaritan. Students accepted will receive these courses free of charge. Click on the link for a description of the classes as well as a teacher recommendation sheet. The completed recommendation sheet should be turned in to Ms. Castlen in Guidance by May 5. (more below)

Students also participated in an event on Monday as part of the newly-formed partnership between the schools to encourage consideration of career pathway opportunities in the nursing and allied sciences.
Students from Purcell Marian visited Good Samaritan College of Nursing and Allied Sciences for a hands-on experience in the College's biology and simulation labs. Take a look at some of the fun we had, including dissection, working with life-like mannequins in a hospital room setting, and even meeting the GSC mascot, Hoot! Thanks to everyone at Good Samaritan College for making the Cavaliers feel so welcome!

Out of Uniform This Friday for Suicide Prevention Awareness
This Friday, April 28 will be a free out of uniform day in support of Suicide Prevention Awareness. Students are asked to wear teal and purple or either of the two official colors for Suicide Prevention Awareness.
Standard dress code guidelines apply. There will also be ribbons available for any student in uniform who wishes to participate.

Spring Parent Information Sessions
April 26, May 10 & May 24
As part of the Admissions Office's ongoing efforts to increase exposure to the advantages of being a Cavalier, Parent Information Sessions have been scheduled for prospective families on Thursdays in April and May.
Sessions will be held in the Purcell Marian Board Room from 6 - 7:15 pm on the following dates:

Junior Parents:
Meningococcal Vaccine Requirement
All junior parents who have not turned in documentation for two meningitis vaccines (now required by the State of Ohio for entry into senior year for 2017-18) should have received notice in the mail. Please send updated vaccination records to the Main Office, or fax to Purcell Marian, ATTN: School Nurse at 513-751-1395.
PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO BEGIN THEIR SENIOR YEAR WITHOUT THESE RECORDS ON FILE AT SCHOOL.

Purcell Marian has been added to a growing number of schools that have taken advantage of the SaferOH Tip Line. By calling or texting the statewide hotline 844-SaferOH, you can report anything that is suspicious or endangering to you, your friends, or your school. This tip line can be used by students, parent, or staff to report imminent suicides, violence, bullying, or other problems or potential hazards that may occur or are occurring.

We have been discussing Purcell Marian's Drug Prevention Program and drug-free lifestyles. This week we will continue to educate our students about a drug-free lifestyle and will be asking them to volunteer to participate in the drug test that will take place this month.

PARENT MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MAY 23 AT 6:30 PM
We will have a parent meeting on
Tuesday May 23rd to give information on our Drug Prevention Program. The meeting will start at 6:30 pm and take place in the center. Parents should enter through the main doors on Hackberry Street.
Mr. Tobin reminds all students and parents that this program will be mandatory for all students next year.

Prom is Just Around the Corner!
Purcell Marian's Prom will take place on May 6
th at The Madison, located at 700 Madison Ave in Covington, KY (41011). Doors open at 7:00 pm and the dance is over at 11:00 pm. Dinner will be served around 7:30. Tickets are $55 for a single and $100 for a couple, and will be sold at all lunches the week of April
24
th through the 28
th.
Students and parents must read and sign the rules and regulation sheet to purchase tickets (see below). Any student who would like to take a student from another school must see Mr. Tobin, Ms. Winfrey, or Miss Johnson to get a signed Guest Form (also posted below). We are looking forward to a great night!

Each week we will highlight a few students who received merits from the staff of Purcell Marian for doing something great!
Mr. Hamm - Awarded Sam Schultheis with a merit for being nominated as athlete of the week. Also for being "a great student and generous person."
Mr. Ulrich - Awarded Adam Hall a merit for being a work study student every 3rd bell.
Mr. Tobin - Awarded Kim Bennie a merit for helping him pick up trash outside of a classroom. Thanks for helping to make The Castle a better place, Kim!

DISCERNMENT AND VOCATIONS: ANSWERS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
On Monday May 22nd at 7 pm, Reverend Thomas J. McQuillen, M.A., Dean of Men at Mt. St. Mary's Seminar, will present a program designed for young people and religious vocation choices.
The evening begins at 6 pm with the Rosary in the Chapel at St. Paul's Home, 476 Riddle Road, Clifton 45220. St. Paul's Home is operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor in Cincinnati for the elderly poor of all race and religions. Fr. McQuillen will speak at 7pm and answer questions until 8 pm.

Earn Service Hours at Pleasant Ridge Library!
The Pleasant Ridge children's librarian, Charlene Bandurraga-Hole is asking for volunteers to help with children's programming. Teens are needed to help one time or on an ongoing basis. Programs are weekdays at 4 or Saturdays. Contact Charlene at
