A Special Thank You from Anthony and DeLiecia

Dear Family Promise and Volunteers,

It is from my deepest gratitude that I and my daughter DeLeica write you today. On June 12th of this year, my daughter and I found ourselves in a very unfortunate situation that forced us to leave our home unprepared and left us in a dire situation, we were homeless!

In life, we stroll by homeless people and so often seem to become immune to their status in our society, never thinking that one day that would be me. I never thought that I, a hard working middle aged man, would join their ranks with a six year old precious little girl.

After researching my options for help, it was immediately apparent that I was not looking for a hand out, but a hand up. I felt my pride sink into my stomach when I walked into the Department of Transitional Assistance to ask for help. Unknowing to me, I found out that my daughter and I did not fit the criteria for the help they provided. After knowing this news, I was pained greatly as I walked out with my daughter as I did not know where we would sleep that night.

Our Current Families

In August we welcomed Melanie, John and their five children into our program. John is working and Melanie has been busy getting the kids ready for school.

We are currently interviewing families and expect we will be a full house again very soon.

 School Bells Are Ringing!

It's been a busy time for the parents and children at FPM as they prepare for their return to school. For some of our families, this time of transition is made more difficult when their current situation requires that the children change schools. We are thankful to the Natick Public Schools and their kind and caring staff who make the transition as easy as possible for our families.

Thank you to our volunteers for their donations of school clothes and gift cards to buy school shoes.

We also thank Natick Service Council and the Boys and Girls Club of Metrowest for providing our kids with backpacks and school supplies. Sonic and Spiderman backpacks rule!

DeLiecia, Rebecca, Samantha, JJ, John and Jay proudly showed off their haircuts courtesy of  Appearances Salon in Marlboro and Lisa James Salon in Wellesley. Thank You!

We are truly a community effort!

Match Appeal Update: Success!

Thanks to the generosity of so many, we raised the full $25,000! Every dollar will now be matched for a total of $50,000 raised between June 15th and September 2nd! You are amazing!

The staff and board of FPM are so grateful for the continued outpouring of kindness and support that you all offer. Together we are making a difference in life of every child that comes through our doors.
