Lucas Family Update

Blessings have been abundant as our family has witnessed God's provision throughout this past year. Here are some of the highlights:

Steve and Stephanie created this in Virginia in November!

Steve and Angela have enjoyed ministry responsibilities while continuing to maintain balance by building relationships in the community and improving Spanish-speaking skills. They each were refreshed by much-needed family visits. There was a mini-family reunion July 4th weekend in Frisco, Colorado.  Our hearts were overwhelmed with emotion in sharing that time with a memorial for Steve's dad and experiencing our first Independence Day celebration Stateside in over four years. Angela's family got together the first week of November to celebrate her parent's 50th wedding anniversary. During that weekend trip to the Virginia mountains, it snowed!! Fully accustomed to living in the tropics and no longer having winter attire, it seemed arctic cold (average temps in the 50s). They are looking forward to making the most of the remaining time while their youngest child finishes up her Senior year of school and is off to university next fall. Mixed feelings escalate with the ever-encroaching Empty Nester stage.

Flora and Cristopher have had their hands full with their three children. Flora has improved in her housekeeping skills and her devotion to her kids. Cristopher just recently received his Costa Rican citizenship. He has been anticipating new job possibilities and is looking forward to a better income to more adequately provide for his family. The new school year begins here in February, and their oldest starts his first year of primary school in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Atenas. They are excited about these new opportunities.

Maria del Carmen and Cristian have continued making a life for themselves and their son between the town and city of Zacatecas and San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Their son, Gabriel, started kindergarten this past year. Maria informed us that he does NOT like school. While Maria has enjoyed creating bonds with Cristian's family in Mexico, she has no one with whom she can speak English. She fears her English-speaking ability continues to decline. She loves spending time with Cristian's family, but has yet to build any significant friendships.

David finished his first year of college in Pensacola. He experienced his first job over the summer back in Frisco, Texas. Returning for the second year, he has enjoyed his studies, dorm life and making new friends. His continuation in the criminal justice program this semester has led to the certainty that his calling is not in the area of Corrections. He is looking forward to spending the Holiday break with his girlfriend Alissa and her family in McKinney, Texas. As he heads back next semester, he will continue to explore future career options.

Stephanie has made several significant friends in the youth group of our local church. She will miss them when it is time for her to go to college. This fall she was able to visit Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and has decided, Lord willing, this will be her future alma mater. She has most enjoyed her high school Government/Economics class this past semester, and is interested in the possibility of a minor in Political Science to go with her Business degree. She still has lots of school work and desires to finish strong in preparation for next year's university.

Thank you to all of you who pray for our family. We can feel your support and return the prayers for God's blessing on you.

Because of Christ's Love for Us,

Angela Lucas

How Funds are Spent

We operate much like a typical church. From funds donated by supporters, we invest in projects that fit our mission and purpose, including but not limited to: pastoral coaching and training, church program development, and mission trip facilitation for churches, groups and families.
Our administrative expenses include our staff, transportation, printing, communication, education, and legal fees.
We do not typically provide "gifts" to donors, nor do we do expensive mailings. We consider ourselves to be stewards of the funds God has entrusted to us through you.
Donations directed to specific projects are used for that project until the need is met, at which time surplus funds are kept in the general fund to be used where needed most.
