Seventh grader Dessy Rios of Cornelia, has been a Farm to School Ambassador since she came to Wilbanks Middle School last year. She was one of nine students selected during the 2013-2014 school year to participate in the Farm to School pilot program at Wilbanks.

Some of the most important people in northeast Georgia met in Clermont. Nutrition directors representing 10 county school systems and one city school system visited Mountain Fresh Creamery as a part of a quarterly meeting. Why are these 11 people so important? Because collectively, they are responsible for serving 88,800 children across northeast Georgia. Read more . . .

Steve Whiteman of Trillium Farm, a small farm located in Clarkesville, is the Farmer of the Month for March. So just what are micro-greens?

    Start Your Seeds
     

    Join Ladybug Farms as we say hello to Spring with a hands on class to start your garden seeds. Tips on seed selection, soil preparation and transplanting into the garden will be covered. Each participant returns home with a planted tray of seeds for their summer garden. Saturday, March 22 from 2-4 pm or Sunday, March 23 from 2-4 pm (pick one)  Cost: $20, includes supplies.
